Galveston, TX
Situated on the Gulf of Mexico 40 miles southeast of Houston, Galveston is a relaxed beach town with a rich history. Magnificent homes on
Broadway, and many new museums recall Galveston's era of wealth and prosperity in the late 1800s. Continuing its legacy as the city's social
center, The Strand is home to art galleries, shopping and seasonal festivals. Moody Gardens features a rainforest enclosed in a 10-story pyramid,
an aquarium and an interactive space exhibit.
This Queen City of the Gulf is famous not only for its breathtaking Victorian architecture, but for
its seafood, tropical scenery and 32 miles of beautiful beaches!

Cozumel, Mexico
Just off the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula sits the island of Cozumel, draped in lush, tropical vegetation.  The waters around Cozumel's sheltered
coral reefs make this one of the best snorkeling areas in the world. The
word-famous reefs that fringe the island are favorites for divers and
snorkelers alike.  Visitors to the island of Cozumel also enjoy shopping for deals on gold and silver jewelry in the shops of San Miguel, while
having a great time in its many local bars and restaurants. The most popular shore excursions include snorkeling on famous
Palancar Reef, or a
beginner dive at
Paraiso Reef.  Safari Jeep rides and horseback tours also offer tremendous excursions through temples, caves, beaches and
ruins. Tourists may also want to take a short trip inland to visit the
great pyramids and temples of the Mayas.

Roatan, Honduras...
Roatan, largest of the Bay Islands, is a place where lobster is a common lunch fare, traffic lights don't exist, and you can hail a taxi on the water.
This remote island boasts
white sand beaches, pristine bays and spectacular coral reefs.  Part of the world's second largest barrier reef
system,
Roatan's waters are teeming with colorful coral and sponges.  The water feels like your bathtub, averaging 80 to 84 degrees, and
snorkeling here is like watching high-definition television, with visibility a fantastic 80 to 120 feet.
Dozens of world-class diving and snorkeling
sites are accessible from sandy white beaches around the island.
Roatan is also a mecca for water sports. Kayaking, waterskiing, sailing and
wakeboarding are popular activities.  On land, the friendly, laid-back atmosphere is exactly how you'd envision it to be on an island paradise - it's
perfect.  You may even spot some of the
wildlife indigenous to the island, such as the Red Lored Parrot, the Lala Monkey or the Jesus Lizard, so
named for its ability to "walk on water."  There are many fine restaurants, bars and attractions, such as Butterfly Park, Marble Hill Farms, the Iguana
Farm, and Carambola Gardens. But best of all, make sure to spend time exploring some of the most pure and untouched beaches in the
Caribbean. It's all there for you to enjoy - at your own leisurely pace, of course.

Costa Maya, Mexico
Costa Maya, once a trading post for the Mayan Empire, is located in the Mexican Caribbean and is best known for its jungles, beaches, lagoons
and Mayan ruins
. Exploring the dense tropical vegetation and wide sandy bays of Costa Maya, it's easy to imagine the days when sacrifice and
slavery, rite and ritual were rampant in the Mayan culture. Even today, the countless ruins of temple walls, stairs and secret pathways exude magic
and mystery.  Stretching from Tulum to Belize, Costa Maya boasts
unspoiled beaches and undiscovered Mayan ruins. Archeologists have
unearthed no fewer than
five ancient Mayan cities in the area, including little-known Oxtankah, Chakchoben, and Kohunlich, whose pyramids and
ball courts are tucked deep within the
jungle forest. History buffs head to Chetumal's Museum of Mayan Culture to unlock the secrets of this
mighty civilization, while
scuba divers and snorkelers seek out the underwater gardens of Chinchorro Bank, an offshore barrier reef.

Progreso, Yucatan...
Founded in 1872, Progreso is situated on the Gulf of Mexico in the state of Yucatan. Heavily influenced by the Mayan culture, Progreso enjoys a
simple and laid-back lifestyle. This small and humble fisherman's town is the place to explore the "unspoiled" side of Mexico. Splendid regional
dishes and traditional music and dances local to this region are found in restaurants, theatres and shops housed in palatial mansions along
Paseo de Montejo - a boulevard fashioned after Paris' Champs Elyse.  You can also enjoy
spectacular Mayan pyramids--such as the famed
Chichen Itza,
the most majestic Mayan ruins in Mexico; along with other less-discovered archeological sites that include Uxmal, X'cambo, and
Dzibilchltun.
Progreso's white-sand beaches, crystal-clear waters and cooling gulf breezes are a natural draw for vacationers around the world.
